Councillor Rob Humby, Deputy Leader of Hampshire County Council and Executive Member for Economy, Transport and Environment, said: “This is our way of saying thank you to all care workers, the NHS and all key workers for the vital work you do every day. Our Highways Teams have been out to show how much we appreciate everything you are doing at this time.”

Highways teams have been painting the messages across the county this week including outside the 17 County Council run residential care homes for older people, as well as the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Fleet Community Hospital, Andover War Memorial Hospital, Gosport War Memoria Hospital and Lymington New Forest Hospital.

In addition to the road markings, all electric Variable Messaging Signs (VMS) on Hampshire roads will be updated to say ‘Thank You Key Workers’ and will flash periodically throughout the week.
