Chief ExecutiveThe Chief Executive leads Hampshire County Council’s staff and the strategic vision set out by the council’s elected Leader, mobilising strategies, plans and policies to ensure it is successful. The Chief Executive holds the responsibility for major organisational decisions, an expenditure budget of £2.9 billion and over 13,000 employees (excluding school staff) who deliver a wide range of services to the community.
Responsibilities:
- Head of Paid Service.
- Leads the strategic management and direction of Hampshire County Council, responsible to the council through its elected Leader.
- Hampshire County Council's principal advisor on matters of general policy.
- Provides impartial advice and guidance to all elected Members.
- Governs the organisation, including ensuring appropriate controls, policies and processes to support decision making and corporate compliance.
