Hampshire County Council would like to hear your views about the proposal to enlarge Colden Common Primary School

The County Council would like to consult with you ahead of its proposal to submit a planning application to permanently enlarge the premises of Colden Common Primary School. We would therefore like to invite you to a drop in session on 7 June 2018 at Colden Common Primary School between 3pm and 6pm, when officers will be available to discuss the Council’s plans for additional buildings on the school site.

This consultation will run from the 25 May to 29 June 2018.

The proposed expansion would allow the capacity of the school to be increased to allow Colden Common Primary School to offer up to 60 places in Year R (age 4+) from September 2020. This will allow Colden Common Primary School to cater for 420 pupils across seven year groups. The school provided 60 year R places in September 2014, 2015 and 2017 to meet local demand and this demand will continue. As a result additional accommodation is required to allow the school to cater for a total of 420 pupils.

A statutory consultation process on the principle of school expansion concluded in 2017. The Director of Children’s Services subsequently approved, subject to planning permission, the expansion of the school on 14 December 2017.
