Hampshire County Council is asking members of the public for their views on how they think savings can best be made in the cost of running Hampshire’s Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs).
Hampshire County Council operates a network of 24 HWRC sites, alongside one each in Southampton and Portsmouth which are open seven days a week, except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
These proposals include changing opening hours and/or the possible closure of some HWRC sites. It is possible that a combination of the proposals, and options within them, will be considered.
The analysis of responses from this consultation will be published and presented to the Executive Lead Member for Economy, Transport and Environment, for a decision in the summer of 2016.
