Pre-planning Consultation – Proposal to enlarge Castle Hill Primary School, Rooksdown Campus

Closed on

The County Council would like to consult with you ahead of its proposal to submit a planning application to permanently enlarge the premises of Castle Hill Primary School, Rooksdown Campus. We would therefore like to invite you to a drop in session on 1 November 2017 at the Castle Hill Primary School, Rooksdown Campus between 3pm and 6pm, when officers will be available to discuss the Council’s plans for additional buildings on the school site.

This consultation will run from the 16 October to 10 November 2017.

The proposed enlargement would allow the capacity of the school to be increased to offer up to 60 places in Year R (age 4+) from September 2019. This will eventually allow Castle Hill Primary School, Rooksdown Campus to cater for 420 pupils. The school provided 60 places in year R in 2016 and 2017 and this will continue.

A statutory consultation process on the principle of school expansion concluded in 2016. The Director of Children’s Services subsequently approved, subject to planning permission, the expansion of the school on 27 February 2017.
