Reporting a health and safety concern

Report a Health and Safety concern

If you are worried about something at work which you feel might be health and safety-related, we want to know. You need to raise awareness of it. Such things might include:
  • Dangerous work being carried out
  • Someone acting in an unsafe manner, particularly something which could cause harm
  • Dangerous equipment being used
  • A near miss

How to raise a concern

In the first instance, you need to raise this as soon as possible with your immediate supervisor/ team leader/ manager - whichever is appropriate. If you do not feel comfortable reporting it this way, talk to a 'grandparent' manager (someone further up the line management chain).

If you prefer, you can talk to a Health and Safety Advisor.

If you would rather take the issue outside of your immediate management, talk to your local staff health and safety representative.
