  2. Target the highest risks as priorities, accepting that tolerable risks will remain
  3. Deliver a risk-based improvement programme, using the Plan, Do, Check, Act approach
  4. Provide consistent health and safety advice to departments
  5. Manage accidents and incidents consistently across the organisation
Corporate health and safety plan
  1. Develop and publish a new suite of corporate health and safety procedures to achieve consistency of approach across the organisation
  2. Check that corporate health and safety procedures are fully embedded one year after implementation
  3. Develop arrangements for reviewing the incident reporting system statistics to identify priorities and trends across the organisation
  4. Oversee the development of departmental improvement programmes using the Plan, Do, Check, Act approach and based on corporate and local risks
  5. Develop consistent roles and responsibilities for all health and safety advisers
