Traders prosecuted by Hampshire Trading Standards

Mr Michael Tennick pleaded guilty to 6 offences under the Animal By-Products (England)(Enforcement) Regulations 2013, Animal Health Act 1981 and the Animal Welfare Act 2006 at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on the 9 January 2019. Mr Tennick failed to properly dispose of sheep carcases in his possession, he also failed to  identify sheep with ear tags as required and to register the movement of 2 sheep which he sold to a neighbouring farmer.

Mr Tennick was fined a total of £1,500.00, was ordered to pay prosecution costs of £5,330.40 and was disqualified from keeping sheep for 3 years suspended to allow for disposal until 1/3/2019.
