Highways – Temporary Road Closure from Hart District Council in Hart area

Notice is hereby given that Hart District Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-

Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.

Effect of Order:

All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along those roads listed below, as indicated by traffic signs. The closures are to allow for new gas main installation works on behalf of SGN.

This Order may be cited as "The Hart District Council (Temporary Road Closures) (Various Roads, Fleet) Order 2020".

  1. LEA WOOD ROAD – from 20/1/20 (Diversion via Lea Wood Road, Frere Avenue & The Lea)
  2. THE LEA – from 17/2/20  (Diversion via The Lea, Frere Avenue & Lea Wood Road)
  3. LOXWOOD AVENUE – from 16/3/20  (Diversion via Loxwood Avenue, Grenville Drive and Crookham Road)
  4. GRENVILLE DRIVE – from 30/3/20  (Diversion via Grenville Drive, Loxwood Avenue & Crookham Road)

Duration of Order:

From 20th January 2020 for a period of 9 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected that these closures will be required for no longer than three weeks on each road – please note that although items 3 & 4 overlap slightly, they will not be closed at the same time).

Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the work is being carried out.

If you have any queries regarding the above, please contact SGN on 02392 624120 or Hampshire County Council on 0300 555 1388.
