PENNINGTON JUNIOR SCHOOL, LYMINGTON – NEW RESOURCED PROVISION

1. Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006, that Hampshire County Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to PENNINGTON JUNIOR SCHOOL, Priestlands Road, Pennington, Lymington, SO41 8HX (category of school – Controlled C of E) by increasing the capacity of the school, with effect from 1 May 2020.

2. The objectives of the proposal are to provide a new resourced provision based at Pennington Junior School to accommodate pupils in the junior age range (7–11) with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties in the New Forest area.

3. The current capacity of Pennington Junior School is 208 and it is proposed to create capacity at a new resourced provision at the junior school by offering 5 new places. This will not affect the overall capacity of mainstream places at Pennington Junior School.

4. The capital cost of this project, £20,000, was included in the Children's Services Capital Programme report approved by Executive Lead Member for Children's Services on 10 January 2020. This funding provides for the development of interior spaces.
