Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Hampshire County Council in Test Valley area

TRAFFIC ORDER PROPOSALS: EAST ANTON FARM ROAD, ANDOVER – PROHIBITION OF DRIVING (BUS GATE)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council ("the Council) in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the 1984 Act"); the Transport Act 2000; the Traffic Management Act 2004, and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the 1984 Act") proposes to make an Order as follows:

General nature and effects of the Order:will be to prohibit vehicles, except local buses in order to create a bus gate in that length of East Anton Farm Road, Andover between a point 60 metres west of its junction with Cheviot Road and the southern kerb-line of its junction with the car park entrance to Endeavour Primary School, an approximate distance of 75 metres. Enforcement will be by way of photographic evidence and will be managed by the County Council's parking contractor.

Exemptions will be in place for pedal cycles and emergency service vehicles.

Further details: Some of the buildings previously closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and at which the proposal documents could normally be viewed, have re-opened with restrictions. As a result, the following alternative arrangements have been made:

Objections/other representations: All objections/other representations in respect of this proposal must be made in writing to the undersigned quoting reference: - A1055/MB by 14 August 2020. All objections must state the grounds on which they are made. Under the requirements of current access to information legislation, any statement you make to the Council in response to this Notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.

Title of the Order: The Order, if made, will be known as "The Hampshire (East Anton Farm Road, Andover) (Prohibition of Driving) (Bus Gate) Order 2020"
