BOROUGH OF EASTLEIGH

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14.1

TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION OF BUBB LANE, HORTON HEATH AND BOTLEY

By arrangements made under section 19 of the Local Government Act 2000 with Hampshire County Council, notice is hereby given that Eastleigh Borough Council proposes to make a temporary speed reduction order pursuant to the legislation above as the Council is satisfied that traffic (and/or pedestrians) on the road(s) below should be restricted because works are proposed to be executed on or near the road, the effect of which is detailed below.

Roads affected:

Bubb Lane (B3342) between Tollbar Way and Botley Road (B3354)

Reason for Speed Restriction:

Reduce the speed limit to 30 mph to protect the adjacent construction works from high speed vehicles whilst works take place on the verges and edge of the highway. Reduction in speed limit allows for the safe completion of significant parts of the works without the need to take a lane possession under Temporary Traffic Signals.

Period of Speed Restriction:

Monday 17 August 2020, 00:01 for 18 months or when the works are completed, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above it is expected the speed limit will only be reduced until 5 February 2021.

DATED: 31 July 2020
