Highways – Temporary Road Closure from Eastleigh Borough Council in Eastleigh area

BOROUGH OF EASTLEIGH

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14.1

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE OF ALLINGTON LANE, FAIR OAK

By arrangements made under section 19 of the Local Government Act 2000 with Hampshire County Council, notice is hereby given that Eastleigh Borough Council proposes to make a temporary closure order pursuant to the legislation above as the Council is satisfied that traffic (and/or pedestrians) on the road(s) below should be restricted because works are proposed to be executed on or near the road, the effect of which is detailed below.

Roads affected:

Allington Lane- between Fir Tree Lane and Allington Nurseries

Alternative Route:

Via Allington Lane, Eastleigh Road (B3037), Botley Road (B3354), Tollbar Way (B3342), Botley Road (B3035), Swaythling Road (A27), Allington Lane and vice versa.

Reason for Closure:

Following on from SSE installing a new cable, they require a closure on Thursday 1 October 2020 to safely lower and remove the existing overhead lines, and closure for 2 nights to complete tie-ins for the new road and the surfacing works.

Period of Closure:

Thursday 1 October 2020, 00:01 for 5 months or when the works are completed, whichever is sooner.

Notwithstanding the above it is expected the will only be closed on Thursday 1 October 2020 and for 2 nights (dates to be confirmed).
