Hampshire County Council, together with Southampton City Council, Portsmouth City Council, the Isle of Wight Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton are inviting interested organisations to take part in a market engagement for Appropriate Adult services.
The Service will provide persons acting as an Appropriate Adult (AA) for children and young people (in the absence of the parent, guardian or, if the juvenile is in the care of a local authority or voluntary organisation, a person representing that authority or organisation, or a Social Worker) and vulnerable adults (in the absence of a relative, guardian, other person responsible for their care, or appropriate friend or other suitable adult) in custody at a police station or other place. The Service will also provide AA for children or vulnerable adults who are victims or witnesses required at the police station or other place; and to provide AA support for Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children who are requiring an age assessment to be undertaken by Children's Services in situations where the age of the child is in dispute. The Service will be required in Hampshire, Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight.
As part of the process, we are looking to engage with providers who would be interested in delivering this service, and/or have experience of delivering similar services by completing a short word questionnaire.
We ask you to return the document via the In-Tend communication functionality to us by 2 November, end of business day (17:00h). The word questionnaire together with a draft service specification is available via the Synopsis button or the clarification tab.
If your organisation is not registered on the Hampshire In-tend portal, please go to the website https://in-tendhost.co.uk/hampshire/ and click on the 'Register' tab - registration is free.
