Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Eastleigh Borough Council in Eastleigh area

The Council of the Borough of Eastleigh (hereinafter referred to as "the Council") pursuant to arrangements made with the Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act hereby makes the following Order:-

The effect of the Order will be to:

Delete "No waiting at any time" restrictions in the following road: Foord Road south-west side from its junction with Bursledon Road in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 41 metres; north-east side from its junction with Bursledon Road in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 21 metres.

Introduce "No waiting at any time" restrictions in the following roads: Cerne Close east side from a point 35 metres northwest of its junction with Townhill Way north-westwards and northwards for 28 metres; Chalk Hill east side from the Eastleigh Borough boundary with Southampton City northwards to a point 28 metres south of the rear boundary of Nos 269 & 271 West End Road; Eden Road south-west side from a point 10 metres south-east of its junction with Ullswater Avenue to a point 10 metres north; Foord Road south-west side from its junction with Bursledon Road in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 54 metres; north-east side from its junction with Bursledon Road in a north-westerly direction to a point 10 metres north-west of Downland Place; Sovereign Drive north side from a point 10 metres west to a point 10 metres east of Tamella Road; Tamella Road both sides from its junction with Sovereign Drive for 10 metres northwards; Tanhouse Lane west side from a point 10 metres north to a point 10 metres south of its junction with The Foxgloves; Upper New Road west side from a point 10 metres north to a point 10 metres south of its junction with September Close; West End Road north-west side from a point 10 metres south-west to a point 10 metres north-east of its junction with Wilderness Heights.

The item relating to 'No waiting at any time' restrictions on the west side of Chalk Hill has been abandoned.

The Order will come into operation on 26 October 2020. A copy of the Order may be inspected at my office at the Eastleigh House, Upper Market Street, Eastleigh or on the Councils website: www.eastleigh.gov.uk/TRO

Any persons wishing to question the validity of this Order or any provisions contained in it on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from 19 October 2020 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
