Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Eastleigh Borough Council in Eastleigh area

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Eastleigh Borough Council pursuant to arrangements with Hampshire County Council has made the above mentioned Traffic Regulation Order in exercise of the powers of the said County Council under Sections 1, 2, 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act.

The effect of the Order will be to:

1. Delete "No waiting at any time" in the following road: Mount View west side from its southern closed end northwards to a point 24 metres south of the junction with Mill Street; from a point 5 metres south of the junction with Mill Street northwards to a point 10 metres north of the junction with Mill Street; east side from a point 40 metres north of its southern closed end northwards to a point 10 metres north of the junction with Mill Street.

2. Delete "Areas on Highway Designated as Parking Places with Permits" in the following road: Mount View east side from a point 16 metres north of its southern closed end northwards for a distance of 24 metres; west side from a point 5 metres south of the junction with Mill Street for a distance of 19 metres.

3. Delete "Waiting Limited to Two Hours Maximum Stay (Return Prohibited Within Two Hours) 8:00am - 8:00pm Monday to Saturday" in the following road: Mount View east side from the southern closed end northwards for a distance of 16 metres.

4. Introduce "Waiting Limited to Two Hours Maximum Stay (Return Prohibited Within Two Hours) 8:00am – 8:00pm Monday to Saturday in the following road: Ashton Gardens (north-south section leading to Nos 7-16) east side from a point 5 metres south of the junction with Mill Street southwards for a distance of 22 metres; west side from a point 9.5 metres south of the junction with Mill Street southwards for a distance of 30 metres.

5. Introduce "No waiting at any time" restrictions in the following roads: Ashton Gardens (north-south section leading to Nos 7-16) east side from its junction with Mill Street southwards for 5 metres; from a point 27 metres south of its junction with Mill Street southwards for 21 metres; west side from its junction with Mill Street southwards for 9.5 metres; from a point 39.5 metres south of its junction with Mill Street southwards for 8.5 metres; Mount View west side from its junction with Mill Street northwards for 101 metres (to the northern boundary of the adopted highway); east side from its junction with Mill Street northwards for 10.5 metres; from a point 70 metres north of its junction with Mill Street northwards for 16.5 metres.

The items relating to 'Permit Holder Only' parking on the eastern side of Mount View have

been abandoned.

This Order will come into operation on 26 October 2020. A copy of the Order may be

Inspected at my office at the Eastleigh House, Upper Market Street, Eastleigh during normal

office hours or on the Council's website: www.eastleigh.gov.uk/TRO

Any persons wishing to question the validity of this Order or any provisions contained in it on

the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument under that Act has not been

complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from 19 October 2020 apply to

the High Court for this purpose.
