THE GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECT OF THE ORDER: will prohibit motor vehicles from proceeding in that length of U218 London Road at Clanfield between a point 10 metres north-east of its junction with Whiteland Way and its north-eastern point of termination, an approximate distance of 90 metres. Exemption will be in place for pedal cycles.

Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Hampshire County Council in East Hampshire area

THE HAMPSHIRE (U218 LONDON ROAD, CLANFIELD) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) (EXCEPT PEDAL CYCLES) ORDER 2020 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Order on 16 November 2020, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1,2,3,4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act. 

THE GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECT OF THE ORDER:  will prohibit motor vehicles from proceeding in that length of U218 London Road at Clanfield between a point 10 metres north-east of its junction with Whiteland Way and its north-eastern point of termination, an approximate distance of 90 metres.  Exemption will be in place for pedal cycles. 

DATE OF OPERATION:  The order will come into operation on 28 November 2020. 

FURTHER DETAILS:  Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, all buildings at which the documents relating to the sealing and implementation of Traffic Regulation Orders could normally be viewed are closed.  As a result, the following alternative arrangements have been made:

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT:  Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of the provisions contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for that purpose to the High Court.
