Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Hampshire County Council in East Hampshire area

THE HAMPSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS PETERSFIELD (NORTH)) (PARKING PLACES AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING) (CONTROLLED ZONE) ORDER 2021

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Order on 13th January 2021, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46, 49, 51 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") as amended by the Traffic Management Act 2004 ("the 2004 Act") and the Road Traffic Regulation (Parking) Act 1986, Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.

THE GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECT OF THE ORDER: - will be to amend the existing and impose new parking and waiting restrictions in Petersfield as specified in the following order schedules:

Schedule I (Part II in the Order) – Parking Places Mondays to Saturdays 9.00am to 6.00pm, 1 hour, (no return within 1 hour), except resident permit holders

Barham Road, south side – between a point 13 metres west of its junction with College Street and a point 21 metres west of that point.

Schedule III – No Waiting at Any Time

(i) Barham Road, north side – between its junction with Winton Road and a point 10 metres east of its junction with King George Avenue, an approximate distance of 116 metres.

(ii) Barham Road, north side – between its junction with College Street and a point 15 metres west thereof.

(iii) Barham Road, south side – between its junction with College Street and a point 13 metres west thereof.

(iv) Grenhurst Way, west side – between a point 67 metres south of its junction with Tor Way and a point 16 metres south of that point.

(v) Grenhurst Way, west side – between a point 99 metres south of its junction with Tor Way and a point 18 metres south of that point.

(vi) Grenhurst Way, west side – between a point 169 metres south of its junction with Tor Way and a point 16 metres south of that point.

(vii) Grenhurst Way (southern parking area), north side – between a point 3 metres west and a point 3 metres east of its junction with Grenhurst Way.

(viii) Grenhurst Way (southern parking area), south side – between a point 1 metre west and a point 1 east of its junction with the access to the southern garage area.

(ix) King George Avenue, west side – between its junction with Barham Road and a point 57 metres north thereof.

(x) King George Avenue, east side – between its junction with Barham Road and a point 21 metres north thereof.

(xi) Lyndum Close, west side – between its junction with Barham Road and a point 72 meters north thereof.

(xii) Winton Road, west side – between a point 109 metres south of its junction with Station Road and its junction with Park Road, an approximate distance of 53 metres.

(xiii) Winton Road, east side – between its junction with Station Road and a point 30 metres south of its junction with Barham Road, an approximate distance of 153 metres.

Schedule IV– No waiting Mondays to Saturdays 9.00am to 6.00pm (both days inclusive)

(i) Barham Road, north side – between a point 20 metres west of its junction with College Street and a point 10 metres east of its junction with King George Avenue, an approximate distance of 83 metres.

(ii) Charles Street, west side – between a point 12 metres north of its junction with Lavant Street and a point 24 metres north of that point.

(iii) Charles Street, west side – between a point 17 metres south of its junction with Lavant Street and a point 10 metres south of that point.

(iv) King George Avenue, west side – between a point 57 metres north of its junction with Barham Road and a point 83 metres north of that point.

(v) Lavant Street, north-east side – between its junction with Charles Street and its junction with Chapel Street, an approximate distance of 170 metres.

DATE OF OPERATION: The order will come into force on 23rd January 2021.

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT: - Any person wishing to question the validity of the order or of any of the provisions contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of those sections or of Parts I, II or III of Schedule 9 to the Act or any regulations made under the said Part III of Schedule 9 have not been complied with in relation to the order may, by 24 February 2021, make application for that purpose to the High Court.
