NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT SOUTHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL proposes to make the above Order, the effects of which would be:

Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Southampton City Council in Southampton area
To introduce a prohibition of motor vehicles restriction on The Polygon between its junctions with Cumberland Place and Devonshire Road (this section of road is shown on some maps as Devonshire Road between its junctions with Cumberland Place and The Polygon).To introduce a contraflow cycle lane and associated one-way restriction on Grosvenor Square (north/south spine) from its junction with Cumberland Place to its junction with Grosvenor Square (southern arm of the loop around the Grosvenor Square North car park). All vehicles except cycles must travel south. Note the parking bays on the western side of Grosvenor Square would become 'floating' bays located on the eastern side of the contraflow cycle lane. To introduce a mandatory with-flow cycle lane in Grosvenor Square (north/south spine), east side, from its junction with Cumberland Place northwards for 38m.To permit cyclists to turn right from West Park Road into Havelock Road.
It is also proposed under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce a Toucan Crossing across Cumberland Place, at its junction with The Polygon (shown on some maps as Devonshire Road).

Any person wishing to object to the Order must write to the Highways Legal Team at Southampton City Council, Civic Centre, Southampton, SO14 7LY or email Traffic.Orders.Legal@southampton.gov.uk quoting the Order Title you are objecting to and stating the grounds for objection, within 21 days of the date of this Notice (i.e. by 12th February 2021).
