THE GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECT OF THE TWELVE ORDERS: will be to: (i) introduce virtual permits for designated permit parking places in the New Forest district; and (ii) allow checking of a valid permit for a parked vehicle by means of a handheld device and an electronic database approved by the Council as an alternative to displaying a valid permit in the vehicle when parked in a permit parking place.

TRAFFIC ORDER PROPOSALS: VARIOUS ROADS, NEW FOREST DISTRICT – CHANGES TO PARKING PERMIT ARRANGEMENTS AND FEES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council ("the Council") proposes making twelve traffic orders, in exercise of its powers and duties under the relevant Sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") as amended by the Traffic Management Act 2004 ("the 2004 Act") and the Road Traffic Regulation (Parking) Act 1986, and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.

THE GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECT OF THE TWELVE ORDERS: will be to:

(i) introduce virtual permits for designated permit parking places in the New Forest district; and

(ii) allow checking of a valid permit for a parked vehicle by means of a handheld device and an electronic database approved by the Council as an alternative to displaying a valid permit in the vehicle when parked in a permit parking place.

(iii) replace the existing charges for permits in New Forest district with the charges set out in the Schedule below.

SCHEDULE

Permit Type: Residents' Permit

Charges: £50 per annum

Visitor's Permit: 100 visitor permits included free for residents per annum

FURTHER DETAILS: Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the buildings at which the proposal documents could normally be viewed are closed. As a result, the following alternative arrangements have been made:

OBJECTIONS: All objections and other representations in respect of this proposal must be sent in writing to the undersigned quoting reference: -A1022a/MB by 26 February 2021.

All objections must state the grounds on which they are made. Persons wishing to make objections or other representations are advised that in the order-making process, objections or other representations may become publicly available and therefore the names and addresses of those persons making objections or other representations may also be made publicly available.
