Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Hampshire County Council in Fareham Gosport area

THE HAMPSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, CROFTON, STUBBINGTON AND PEEL COMMON) (RESTRICTED ROAD, 30, 40 AND 50 MILES PER HOUR) ORDER 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Order on 16th May 2022, in exercise of its powers and duties under the relevant Sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act)], Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.

GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER: will be to amend existing and impose new speed limits in Fareham and Gosport as follows:

1. 30mph (by way of a prescribed system of streetlighting) – existing 40mph

Gosport Road (former B3334) between a point 147 metres east of its junction with Marks Road and a point 45 metres east of that point.

2. 40mph

(i) B3334 Daedalus Way (new Stubbington Bypass) between its junction with B3334 Titchfield Road (new alignment) and a point 140 metres east thereof.

(ii) B3334 Titchfield Road (new alignment) between its junction with B3334 Daedalus Way (new Stubbington Bypass) and a point 138 metres west thereof.

(iii) Titchfield Road (new alignment) between its junction with B3334 Daedalus Way (new Stubbington Bypass) and a point 114 metres south thereof.

(iv) Daedalus Roundabout, the entire circulatory carriageway, an approximate distance of 136 metres, extending 50 metres north into B3334 Daedalus Way (new Stubbington Bypass), including the existing 115 metres east into B3334 Gosport Road and 27 metres west into Gosport Road (former B3334).

(v) Broom Way, (new left turn link) between its junction with B3385 Broom Way and its junction with B3334 Gosport Road, an approximate distance of 137 metres.

3. 50mph

(i) B3334 Daedalus Way (new Stubbington Bypass) between a point 140 metres east of its junction with B3334 Titchfield Road (new alignment) and a point 50 metres north of its junction with Daedalus Roundabout, an approximate distance of 3190 metres.

(ii) Peak Lane (existing de-restricted) between a point 130 metres north of its junction with Oakcroft Lane and its roundabout junction with Longfield Avenue, an approximate distance of 950 metres.

The order will revoke and re-enact the provisions contained in three existing orders save for the changes described above and some minor amendments to correct small anomalies in measurements.

DATE OF OPERATION: The order will come into force on 28th May 2022.

(v) Hampshire County Council Headquarters, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ (Opening hours : Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 – 5.15; Fridays 8.30 – 4.45)
