PROPOSAL TO INCREASE SPECIAL NEEDS PLACES AT HAVEN NURSERY SCHOOL AND CHILDREN’S CENTRE, GOSPORT BY 4.8 FTE places FROM SEPTEMBER 2024
Haven Nursery School and Children’s Centre has a SEND (special educational needs) hub designed to meet the needs of children with SEND needs. It is proposed to increase these places from 16.8 full time equivalent (FTE) children to 21.6 FTE from 2 September 2024.

1. Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006, that Hampshire County Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to HAVEN NURSERY SCHOOL AND CHILDREN’S CENTRE, Harris Rd, Gosport PO13 0UY (category of school – Local Authority nursery school) with effect from 2 September 2024.
2. Haven Nursery School and Children’s Centre has a SEND (special educational needs) hub designed to meet the needs of children with SEND needs. It is proposed to increase these places from 16.8 full time equivalent (FTE) children to 21.6 FTE from 2 September 2024.
3.The current capacity of Haven Nursery School and children’s centre and Children’s Centre is 16.8 FTE places, to meet with needs of 28 children on part time placements. This proposal is to increase this to 21.6 FTE places, to meet the needs of up to 36 children with SEND on part time placements. This change will not affect the overall capacity of mainstream places at Haven Nursery School and Children’s Centre.
4. There is no capital cost to this proposed change.
