THE HAMPSHIRE (THORNGATE WAY AND COATES ROAD, GOSPORT) (ONE-WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER: will be to impose one-way traffic in Gosport as follows: (i) Thorngate Way between its junction with South Cross Street and its junction with B3333 South Street will reverse the existing one-way flow so that it runs from west then south. (ii) Coates Road between its junction with South Cross Street and its junction with the Coates Road car park – east then south. The existing one-way order for Thorngate Way will be revoked

Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Hampshire County Council in Gosport area

THE HAMPSHIRE (THORNGATE WAY AND COATES ROAD, GOSPORT)

(ONE-WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Order on Tuesday 11th June 2024, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act), Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.

 

General nature and effectS of the OrdeR: will be to impose one-way traffic in Gosport as follows:

 

(i)        Thorngate Way between its junction with South Cross Street and its junction with B3333 South Street will reverse the existing one-way flow so that it runs from west then south.

 

(ii)       Coates Road between its junction with South Cross Street and its junction with the Coates Road car park – east then south.

 

The existing one-way order for Thorngate Way will be revoked

 

DATE OF OPERATION: The order will come into force on Saturday 22nd June 2024.

(ii)       Gosport Borough Council, Development Control, Town Hall, High Street, Gosport, PO12 1EB (Opening hours: Monday – Friday: 09.00 – 17.00

(iii)      Hampshire County Council Headquarters, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ (Opening hours : Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 – 5.15; Fridays 8.30 – 4.45)

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT:  Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Act, or that any of the relevant requirements of the Act or of any relevant instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by Tuesday 23rd July 2024 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
