Highways – Temporary Road Closure from Hampshire County Council in Basingstoke and Deane area

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that Hampshire County Council, because of an urgent incident on or near the road, considers that the closure to the road mentioned below should come into force without delay.

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: that part of Firs Way between its junction with Roman Road and its junction with Oaklands Way.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Oaklands Way, Elmwood Way, Wellington Terrace, Roman Road. 

DURATION OF THIS NOTICE: from 28th June 2024 for a maximum period of 21 days or until completion of the emergency restriction, whichever is sooner (Notwithstanding the above, it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 20 days, and in operation for 24 hours a day). 

The road closure has been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for Cappagh to carry out emergency sewer repairs.

Cappagh will provide reasonable facilities to allow access to adjacent premises and provide notice to those directly affected while the work is being carried out.
