THE HAMPSHIRE (GORDON ROAD, FARNBOROUGH) (EXPERIMENTAL SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 / THE HAMPSHIRE (MORRIS ROAD, FARNBOROUGH) (EXPERIMENTAL SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
Will, for a period of 18 months, suspend the existing one-way restriction on Gordon Road so that it will become normal two-way traffic. This will also impose a prohibition of waiting on the south side of Gordon Road from a point 15 metres east of its Junction with Peabody Road to a point 15 metres west of its junction with Morris Road. That part of Schedule One which mentions Gordon Road in “Rushmoor Borough Council (One-Way Streets and Other Prescribed Directions, Farnborough) (Consolidation) Order 2013.” will be part-suspended for the duration of this order and The Rushmoor Borough Council (Various Roads in Farnborough) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and on street parking places) (Farnborough Consolidation) (C0021) Order 2021 will be varied to accommodate the prohibition of waiting. Will, for a period of 18 months, vary the existing one-way restriction on Morris Road so that it will become normal two-way traffic from a point 17 metres north of its junction with Lynchford road and its junction with Gordon Road. That part of Schedule One which mentions Morris Road in “Rushmoor Borough Council (One-Way Streets and Other Prescribed Directions, Farnborough) (Consolidation) Order 2013.” will be amended to allow two-way traffic flow as stated above for the duration of this order.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Order on Tuesday 2nd July 2024, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 9, 10(1), 10(2), 122(1) and 122(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.
GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER: Will, for a period of 18 months, suspend the existing one-way restriction on Gordon Road so that it will become normal two-way traffic. This will also impose a prohibition of waiting on the south side of Gordon Road from a point 15 metres east of its Junction with Peabody Road to a point 15 metres west of its junction with Morris Road. APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT: Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Act, or that any of the relevant requirements of the Act or of any relevant instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by Tuesday 13th August 2024 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
