Highways – Temporary Road Closure from Hampshire County Council in Winchester area
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that Hampshire County Council, because of an urgent incident on or near the road, considers that the closure to the road mentioned below should come into force without delay.
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: that part of Cross Street between its junction with Treasury Court and its junction with Staple Gardens.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Westbound - Tower Street, Staple Gardens.
Eastbound – Staple Gardens, B3040, Tower Street.
DURATION OF THIS NOTICE: from 15th July 2024 for a maximum period of 5 days or until completion of the emergency restriction, whichever is sooner (Notwithstanding the above, it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 1 day, working between 09:30-23:59).
The road closure has been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for Openreach to carry out urgent underground works.
Openreach will provide reasonable facilities to allow access to adjacent premises and provide notice to those directly affected while the work is being carried out.
