Highways - Pedestrian crossings public notices from Hampshire County Council in New Forest area
In accordance with Part III section 23 (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 notice is hereby given of the County Council’s intention to alter the operation of the existing pedestrian crossing on A326 Long Lane near Main Road, Hardley. In line with current standards the existing far-sided Toucan crossing will be changed to a near-sided Toucan crossing. This will include the relocation of the pedestrian/cycle signals from the opposite side of the carriageway to the push button unit next to the pedestrian/cyclist waiting area. This alteration encourages people to look towards oncoming traffic whilst waiting for the green figure to appear, thereby making users more aware of vehicle movements.
Any person wishing to make a representation concerning this matter should do so, quoting reference (TOU046 Refurbishment), either by writing to the address or email below, or by calling 0300 555 1388 within twenty-eight days of this notice.
