In accordance with Part III section 23 (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 notice is hereby given of the County Council’s intention to alter the operation of the existing pedestrian crossing on B2149 Bedhampton Road near Kingscroft, Bedhampton. In line with current standards the existing Pelican crossing will be changed to a Puffin crossing. This will include the relocation of the pedestrian signals from the opposite side of the carriageway to the push button unit next to the pedestrian waiting area. This alteration encourages people to look towards oncoming traffic whilst waiting for the green figure to appear, thereby making users more aware of vehicle movements.
