Highways – Temporary Road Closure from Hampshire County Council in Test Valley area
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council intends to make an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: that part of Cocum Road between its junction with Bullington Lane and its junction with A303 Eastbound Slip Roads.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE:
• Route 1: Traffic heading south from Longparish wishing to continue towards Barton Stacey: join the A303 eastbound carriageway, exit at the Bullington Cross junction, travel down through Sutton Scotney, travel west on the A30, then turn right onto Cocum Road to reach Barton Stacey.
• Route 2: Traffic heading south from Longparish wishing to join A303 westbound: join the A303 eastbound carriageway, exit at the Bullington Cross junction, join A30 link road, turn left onto slip road, join A303 westbound carriageway.
• Route 3: Traffic heading north from Barton Stacey to access the A303 eastbound or westbound: travel south down Cocum Road to the junction with the A30, travel east along the A30 to Sutton Scotney, turn left onto Bullington Lane, join the A303/A34 at Bullington Cross junction
• Route 4: A303 westbound traffic wishing to exit at the Barton Stacey junction: continue west along the A303 to the Forton/Longparish junction. For Longparish, head north on B3048 to Longparish. For Barton Stacey, head south on B3048 towards Wherwell, turn left onto B3420 Winchester Road. The turn left onto A30, then turn left onto Cocum Road.
DURATION OF ORDER: from 13th November 2024 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 8 days, working between the hours 21:00-06:00).
The road closure has been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for Associated Asphalt to carry out resurfacing works.
Associated Asphalt will provide reasonable facilities to allow access to adjacent premises and provide notice to those directly affected while the work is being carried out.
