THE HAMPSHIRE (GRAINGER STREET AREA, WATERLOOVILLE) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2024

GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER: Will be to implement no waiting at any time restrictions on Grainger Street and surrounding roads as described below: Road Side Description Grainger Street South (i) between a point 97 metres west of its junction with Ashmead Arcade Avenue and a point 20 metres east of that junction. (ii) between a point 30 metres east of its junction with Ashmead Arcade Avenue and a point 70 metres east of that junction. (iii) between a point 17 metres west of its junction with Laxton Leaze to its roundabout junction with Houghton Avenue, an approximate distance of 85 metres. Grainger Street North (i) between its junction with Rosemary Lane and a point 67 metres west thereof. (ii) between its junction with Rosemary Lane and its junction with Orchard Mead, an approximate distance of 79 metres. THE HAMPSHIRE (GRAINGER STREET AREA, WATERLOOVILLE)

(PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2024

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Order on Wednesday 13th November 2024, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 122(1) and 122(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.

Between its junction with Grainger Street and a point 12 metres south thereof. 

 

West

Between its junction with Grainger Street and a point 11 metres south thereof.

Ellisons Crescent

East

Between its junction with Grainger Street and a point 13 metres south thereof.

Between its junction with Grainger Street and a point 15 metres south thereof.

Orchard Mead

Between its junction with Grainger Street and a point 7 metres north thereof.

Houghton Avenue

(i) between a point 76 metres south-east of its junction with Carey Lane and a point 31 metres south of that point.

 

 

(ii) between a point 126 metres south-east of its junction with Carey Lane and its roundabout junction with Grainger Street, an approximate distance of 34 metres.

Houghton Avenue

East

Between a point opposite a point 77 metres south-east of its junction with Carey Lane and its roundabout junction with Grainger Street, an approximate distance of 88 metres.

Houghton Avenue Roundabout (unnamed south-eastern arm)

Both

Between its roundabout junction with Grainger Street and a point 19 metres south-east thereof.

 

This order will revoke The Hampshire (Various Roads, Boarhunt and Southwick) (Parking Places and Restriction of Waiting) Order 2008 in its entirety.      

 

DATE OF OPERATION: The order will come into force on Saturday 23rd November 2024.

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT: Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Act, or that any of the relevant requirements of the Act or of any relevant instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by Tuesday 24th December 2024 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
