1.    Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006, that Hampshire County Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to LANTERNS NURSERY SCHOOL AND EXTENDED SERVICES, Bereweeke Road, Winchester, SO22 6AJ (category of school – community) with effect from 1 April 2025.

2.    It is proposed that the age range for the school is lowered to enable children from aged 6 weeks old to attend. The governing body of the school is seeking to establish an expansion of childcare places on the school site to deliver additional preschool places for children aged from 6 weeks old.

3.    Lanterns Nursery School is a maintained nursery school in the Winchester district and is currently approved to take children from two years to five years. They are also a resourced provision and hold 36 childcare places for children with SEND. The nursery school currently accommodates 108 children.
