TRAFFIC ORDER PROPOSALS – 40MPH SPEED LIMIT ON RIVER LANE, TITCHFIELD

GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER: Will be to: (i) Impose a 40 miles per hour speed limit (formerly National speed limit) on River Lane between its junction with Titchfield Lane / Fontley Road and its junction with Mayles Lane, an approximate distance of 415 metres. (ii) Funtley Road between its junction with Mayles Lane and its junction with Funtley Hill (an approximate distance of 1,050 metres) will become a restricted road by virtue of a system of streetlighting as per section 82(1)(a) of the Act. This stretch of road will be 30 miles per hour with no requirement for an Order.

TRAFFIC ORDER PROPOSALS – 40MPH SPEED LIMIT ON RIVER LANE, TITCHFIELD

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council (“the Council”) proposes to make the above-mentioned Order, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 84 and 122(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.

 

General nature and effects of the Order: Will be to:

 

(i)        Impose a 40 miles per hour speed limit (formerly National speed limit) on River Lane     between its junction with Titchfield Lane / Fontley Road and its junction with Mayles     Lane, an approximate distance of 415 metres.

 

(ii)       Funtley Road between its junction with Mayles Lane and its junction with Funtley Hill (an approximate distance of 1,050 metres) will become a restricted road by virtue of a system of streetlighting as per section 82(1)(a) of the Act. OBJECTIONS AND OTHER REPRESENTATIONS: All objections/other representations in respect of this proposal must be made in writing to The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD or email [email protected] quoting reference: - C689/KK, by Friday 14th February 2025. All objections must state the grounds on which they are made. Under the requirements of current access to information legislation, any statement you make to the Council in response to this Notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.

 

TITLE: The order, if made, will be known as “The Hampshire (River Lane and Funtley Road, Titchfield) (40 miles Per Hour) Order 2025.”
