PROPOSAL TO ESTABLISH A RESOURCED PROVISION FOR PUPILS WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM CONDITIONS (ASC) NEEDS AT VELMEAD JUNIOR SCHOOL, HART FROM SEPTEMBER 2025
Hampshire County Council plans to make a change to Velmead Junior School in Fleet, Hampshire, starting in September 2025. They will establish a new Resourced Provision for 12 junior aged pupils with autism needs. This addition will not affect the school's overall capacity of 360 students.

1. Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006, that Hampshire County Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to VELMEAD JUNIOR SCHOOL Velmead Road, Fleet, Hampshire, GU52 7LG (category of school – Community School) from September 2025.
2. The current capacity of Velmead Junior School is 360. The proposal is to establish a new Resourced Provision for 12 junior aged pupils with autism needs, opening in phases from September 2025. This will not affect the overall capacity of mainstream places at Velmead Junior School.
3. The capital cost of this project, £650,000 is included in the Children's Services Capital Programme report to the Executive Lead Member for Children's Services in January 2025. It is proposed to install a modular building as a base for the Resourced Provision and create a secure external play area.
