ST JOHN'S, GOSPORT CHURCH OF ENGLAND VOLUNTARY AIDED PRIMARY SCHOOL (GOSPORT) – REDUCTION IN AGE RANGE
Hampshire County Council plans to lower the age range at St John's, Gosport Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School to include preschool children aged 3 and 4 from 1 September 2025. The school will establish a preschool with 26 places, without affecting the current school capacity of 420 or the admission number of 60 for 2024/2025.

1. Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006, that Hampshire County Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to ST JOHN'S, GOSPORT CHURCH OF ENGLAND VOLUNTARY AIDED PRIMARY SCHOOL, Grove Road, Gosport, PO12 4JH (category of school – community) with effect from 1 September 2025.
2. The PAN for the school for 2024/2025 is 60. It is proposed that the age range for the school is lowered to enable preschool children aged 3 and 4 years old to attend. The governing body of the school is seeking to establish a preschool on the school site to deliver 26 preschool places for children aged from 3 years.
3. The current capacity of the school is 420 and will be unaffected by the proposal. The current number of pupils registered at the school is 385. The admission number for the school in 2024/2025 is 60 and is not affected by the school running a preschool which will be a separate capacity of 26 on the implementation of this proposal. There are no costs associated with this proposal.
