Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Hampshire County Council in Fareham area
THE HAMPSHIRE (OSBORN ROAD, FAREHAM)(PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council (“the Council”) made the above-mentioned Order on 28th January 2025, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 3, and 122(1) and 122(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.
General nature and effects of the Order: will amend the existing no waiting at any time restrictions to correspond with the altered highway layout for the Fareham Live surface level car park entrance. This proposal does not result in the loss of any on-street parking places:
No Waiting at Any Time
Osborn Road on its south side – between its junction with Palmerston Avenue and a point 120 metres east thereof
The Hampshire (Fareham) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2023 will be part-revoked to the extent specified above,
DATE OF OPERATION: The order will come into force on Saturday 8th February 2025.
FURTHER DETAILS: A copy of this notice, the order as made, a map showing the location and effect of the proposal, the statement of reasons and the relevant extract of the order to be part-revoked may be viewed at https://www.hants.gov.uk/community/publicnotices/?typeid=5 or inspected during the usual office hours at the following places:
(i) Fareham Borough Council, Civic Offices Customer Services, Civic Way, Fareham, PO16 7AZ (Opening hours: Monday to Friday 08,45 – 17.15)
(ii) Fareham Library, Osborn Road, Fareham, PO16 7EN (Opening hours: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday – Saturday: 09.30 – 17.00; Wednesday: 09.30 – 13.30)
(iii) Hampshire County Council Headquarters, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ (Opening hours: Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 – 17.15; Fridays 8.30 – 16.45)

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT: Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Act, or that any of the relevant requirements of the Act or of any relevant instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by 11th March 2025 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
