Highways - s115 Environment Act - Notice from Hampshire County Council in Gosport area
The notices were placed on the trees yesterday.
We are felling two trees with a total of 6 stems. (2 x Leyland cypress and 4 x oak stems)
The reason is for subsidence damage to the adjacent dwelling. Oak tree roots were found in a trial pit close to cracking that had 10mm of seasonal movement.
The Leyland cypress have a fast growth habit and can be deep-rooted so future problems with these trees are foreseeable.
There is no scope to replant but as the trees are on the edge of a small woodland area the impact is reduced.
