PROPOSAL TO CHANGE THE DESIGNATION AND EXPAND PLACES WITHIN THE RESOURCED PROVISION AT ASHLEY INFANT SCHOOL, NEW MILTON FROM SEPTEMBER 2025

Hampshire County Council plans to increase the number of places at Ashley Infant School's Resourced Provision from 24 to 32, starting in September 2025, using existing surplus classroom space. The school will also change the designation of the Resourced Provision to cater for pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). These changes will better meet the needs of current and future pupils and will not affect the overall capacity of mainstream places at the school.

1. Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006, that Hampshire County Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to ASHLEY INFANT SCHOOL Lower Ashley Road, Ashley, New Milton, Hampshire, BH25 5AA (category of school – Community School) with effect from September 2025.

2. Ashley Infant School currently operates a successful Resourced Provision for 24 pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
