THE HAMPSHIRE (FUNTLEY ROAD AREA, FAREHAM) (PROHIBITION OF HEAVY COMMERCIAL VEHICLES) ORDER 2025 AND THE HAMPSHIRE (VARIOUS BRIDGES) (WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 2025
GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER: Will be to impose a 3 tonne weight restriction on (B475) Longwater Bridge No. 475 on River Lane in Funtley, Fareham. This order will revoke and reinstate the provisions contained in The Hampshire (Various Bridges) (Weight Restriction) Order 2024 with no change of substance save for the addition described in the above paragraph. This order will revoke and reinstate the provisions contained in The Borough of Fareham (Various Roads) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles Over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) (No. 12) Order 1995 with no change of substance save for the removal of River Lane from the schedule to that order. Due to strengthening works this order will also revoke Eastleigh Borough Council Weight Restriction, Weardale Road (Monks Brook River Bridge) Chandlers Ford Order 2002 in its entirety.

AND
THE HAMPSHIRE (VARIOUS BRIDGES) (WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Orders on Tuesday 18th March 2025, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4 and 122(1) and 122(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.

DATE OF OPERATION: The orders will come into force on Saturday 29th March 2025.

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT: Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Act, or that any of the relevant requirements of the Act or of any relevant instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by Tuesday 29th April 2025 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
