Notice of Barge Support to the Solent Oyster Restoration Project at Swanwick Bend 14 – 18 April 2025

1.                  NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that LNTM 4 of 2025, relating to the same matter, is cancelled.  A barge will now be in position approximately 50 metres NNE of Swanwick tide gauge off Swanwick bend between 14 and 18 April 2025.  The barge will be depositing a fine layer of material in preparation for the second phase of a project to re-introduce native Solent Oysters. The completion date of the works will be weather dependent.  All vessels should exercise particular caution when planning and executing navigation in the vicinity.

2.                  All vessels involved will display the appropriate lights and shapes as required by the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea.

3.                  River users are advised to maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 for navigational broadcasts during these operations and navigate with caution in the vicinity of the vessels involved.

4.                  Further information on these works can be obtained from the Harbour Office or by calling ‘Hamble Harbour Radio’ on VHF Channel 68.

5.                  Cancel this Notice 30 April 2025.
