Notice of Towing Operations involving a large Vessel between Salterns and Riverside on Wednesday 28 May 2025
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a tow involving a large unpowered vessel will take place from Salterns Boatyard North of Crableck bend to Riverside Boatyard North of the Railway Bridge on Wednesday 28 May. The tow will be conducted by two support vessels and all vessels will be severely restricted in their ability to manoeuvre. All vessels must keep well clear of this movement and take this notice into account when planning and executing navigation in the area of the move.
2. All vessels involved will display the appropriate lights and shapes as required by the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea.
3. River users are advised to maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 for navigational broadcasts during these operations and navigate with caution in the vicinity of the vessels involved.
4. Further information on these works can be obtained from the Harbour Office or by calling ‘Hamble Harbour Radio’ on VHF Channel 68.
