The Hampshire (C6 The Causeway, Heckfield) (Experimental Prohibition of Right Turns) Order 2018

On 19 November 2018, Hampshire County Council made a traffic order as follows:











Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Hampshire County Council in Hart area

EFFECT OF ORDER: Will, for an experimental period of 18 months prohibit vehicles from making right turn manoeuvres from C6 The Causeway into the A33 Basingtoke Road at Heckfield.

An exemption will be included for pedal cycles.

DATE OF OPERATION: The order will come into operation on 10 December 2018 and continue in force until 9 June 2020.

FURTHER DETAILS: A copy of this notice and the order as made together with a map showing the location and effect of the order and a statement of reasons can be viewed at, or may be inspected during the usual office hours at the following places:

(i) Chineham Library, Chineham District Centre, Chineham (Opening hours : Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9.30 – 5; Thursdays 9.30 – 7; Saturdays 9.30 – 4)

(ii) Civic Offices, Harlington Way, Fleet (Opening hours : Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 – 5; Fridays 8.30 – 4.30)

(iii) Hampshire County Council Headquarters, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ (Opening hours : Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 – 5.15; Fridays 8.30 – 4.45)

OBJECTIONS TO MAKING THE ORDER PERMANENT: The County Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the order should be continued in force indefinitely. Any person may object to the making of an order for this purpose and such objections must be sent in writing to the undersigned, quoting reference A1033/MB, by 9 June 2019. Persons wishing to make objections or other representations are advised that in the order-making process, objections or other representations may become publicly available and therefore the names and addresses of those persons making objections or other representations may also be made publicly available.

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT: Any person who desires to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Sections 1, 2 and 3 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of those Sections or of Parts I, II, or III of Schedule 9 to the Act or any regulations made under the said Part III of Schedule 9 have not been complied with in relation to the order may, by 31 December 2018 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
