Tender from Hampshire County Council in Test Valley area

Hampshire County Council is making available a parcel of land on a 35-year lease basis at the site of Harrow Way Community School and is seeking an experienced early years childcare provider to offer an early years and childcare setting.

A high quality, self-sustaining, affordable childcare service to meet the needs of the local community and work in partnership with Portway Infant and Junior schools in Harrow Way.

We are looking for a childcare provider with a proven track record of at least six years in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage at good or outstanding Ofsted judgements and able to ensure the needs of individual children are met to achieve good outcomes for children. The childcare provider will also need to demonstrate project management experience for a project of this type.

The selected childcare operator will fully finance and provide their own facility and infrastructure, on the site within Harrow Way Community School campus. It is anticipated the building will be completed by the provider for occupation in Spring 2020 subject to usual planning and Ofsted registration processes.

Full day care for children up to 5 years old is required although it is likely the size of the plot may offer opportunity to offer other services to older children depending on the Ofsted registration and design of the building. The operation could run at weekends as well as through the holidays subject to planning permission subject to providers own market research and demand.

All childcare services offered must be affordable and tailored to the needs of the local community.

You will need to demonstrate your experience of achieving good or outstanding Ofsted outcomes and your commitment to ensuring high quality staff development leading to good child outcomes.

It is expected that the staff team and management will work closely in meeting the needs of the families and children through close partnership working with schools and other stakeholders in the Harrow Way ward area.

An application pack is available by email to sfyc.tv@hants.gov.uk for interested applicants. Applications for the pack will not be accepted after the closing date. All completed applications are required to be returned by 5pm on 19 July 2019.
