Important information about Fort Hill Community School

Applications for Year 7 at Fort Hill Community School in September 2017

As many of you will be aware, a public consultation is underway seeking views on a proposal to amalgamate Fort Hill Community School with Cranbourne School.

As no decision has been made yet about the future of Fort Hill, Hampshire County Council must continue to process applications for Year 7 in September 2017 in line with its published admission arrangements. As a result, a number of families have been offered a place at Fort Hill for Year 7 in September 2017 on the national notification date of 1 March 2017.

The consultation concludes on 2 March 2017. The County Council will then consider the responses and make recommendations to the County Council's Executive Member for Education who will make a decision on 20 March 2017. If it is decided that Fort Hill should be amalgamated with Cranbourne, a statutory notice of this intention will be published and an offer of a place at Fort Hill in September 2017 will become an offer for Cranbourne.

Parents wishing to apply for a place at a different school should contact the County Council’s Admission Team for further advice on 01962 826902 or 845331.
