HC3S holds a pizza workshop for children to celebrate National Pizza Day
Reception pupils at Oliver’s Battery Primary School in Winchester became creative, confident learners as they created their own pizzas during a lively morning of fun. Squirrel class tasted fresh ingredients, used fine motor skills as they squished and squashed, learning how to knead the dough, added their own fruit and vegetable toppings to personalise them before sitting down together to devour their own home-made pizza. Pupils chose mushrooms, sweetcorn, peppers, cherry tomatoes, pineapple and onion, and learnt how to spread tomato coulis. Pupils said: "I could eat cherry tomatoes all day!" "It’s like a squidgy ball" "Pizza's my favourite school lunch." One of the parents told us: "Finley absolutely loved it! Thanks guys. Now we have to make pizzas at home!"
