School-Wide Advocate for Neurodiversity (SWAN) training
We are proud to be piloting a new initiative this year on the Isle of Wight.
School-Wide Advocate for Neurodiversity (SWAN) training has been developed by HIEP to train staff members in primary schools (class teachers). Staff will be trained to advocate for and support, the needs of neurodivergent pupils (including autism and ADHD) at a school-wide level.
Training will occur over seven sessions across a term, focussing on different topics. These sessions will be followed by ongoing half-termly solution-circle meetings (2 hours), facilitated by Educational Psychologists, with a focus on collaborative problem-solving.
