Hampshire Assessment Model (HAM) within SIMS

The course is aimed at new SIMS Assessment users who wish to employ the HAM resources for reporting and monitoring pupil progress, following the HIAS teams phased learning approach

One day course

The course is designed to meet the data collection and data analysis requirements of a school, enabling performance of key groups to be measured, identify under-performance and accelerated progress, thus informing intervention planning.

Course content and methodology

Initially training data will be used to fully explore:

  • Data entry
  • Marksheet Analysis
  • Tracking grid usage for pupil level tracking
  • SIMS reports to measure performance of key groups
Part of the session will be run as a workshop with access to schools' live data (HCC Centrally Hosted SIMS) and will encompass:

  • Applying skills explored in the training database to identify individual pupil and cohort progress

  • Apply skills explored in the training database to demonstrate the impact of funding/interventions for vulnerable groups (closing the gap)

Delegates require a full understanding of the HIAS learning and assessment model, and a basic understanding of how to navigate around SIMS pages and browsers. Delegates must have a user account and permissions to access their school’s HCC Centrally Hosted SIMS system.

Please note that lunch is not provided. Delegates will need to bring their own.
