30 years at HC3S
Take a trip though time and find out more about some of our longest-serving members of staff
It is hard to believe I have been working for HC3S for 26 years, but as I reflect, I am proud of all I have achieved so far.
I have seen changes over the years with school meals from my two children who are now grown up enjoying school meals to my grandchildren aged 11 and 7 enjoying them now. In 1985 I started as a catering assistant and then progressed to an assistant cook and then being the cook at Kingsclere Primary School. I worked with a great team producing fantastic meals but also having a great rapport with my team and the children.
After a short break I eagerly returned in 1992 as a relief catering assistant but this time not in a Hampshire primary but a secondary school. It was not long before I went back into primary schools as a cook at Longparish, Burghclere and Overton to gain experience of a variety of different sizes of schools.
From there I became a mobile cook covering Andover region before returning to the Clere as a unit manager. In 2000, I applied position of trainee catering manager responsible for ten schools and following this training, I became District Manager for Andover moving on to looking after our growing number of Salisbury schools as Senior District Manager.
