HC3S’ secondary schools and commercial catering business units attained our industry best practice standard accreditation in 2018 following development and compliance of of its allergen strategies, and extensive training of all catering staff in allergen awareness and the safe handling of allergenic ingredients across its schools. All chefs and managers are trained and equipped to deal with special diet requests and can offer assurances to parents and guardians.
What was evident during meetings and audits with the team was their passion for customer service and to ensure dealing with a student that has an allergy or intolerance was a normal day to day activity with no fuss. Indeed, the ethos of the staff is to ensure that no anxiety or being left out is felt by any of its customers.
Whilst the government is now introducing Natasha’s Law (Requiring allergen and ingredient lists on pre-packed goods) HC3S already labels items with allergens clearly marked- way ahead of any governmental regulation. Further testimony to the organisations outstanding allergen controls and systems!
