The Garden Restaurant

With a focus on seasonal and local ingredients, The Garden Restaurant at Sir Harold Hiller Gardens and Arboretum menus offer food and drink that showcase the best Hampshire can offer. We’ve built up a repertoire of local and artisan suppliers to help us deliver a mouth-watering menu for our guests.

Handcrafted Hampshire gins, distilled in small batches are chosen with care such as Test Valley gin, subtly infused with herbs from the Leckford estate or Twisted Nose gin containing Alresford watercress that flourishes in the famous chalk streams. Seasonal, high quality produce permeates our menus which will change with the season, so visitors will want to visit throughout the year.

A visit to our Garden Restaurant overlooking the botanical gardens would not be complete without afternoon tea or brunch. So, whether it’s the delicate flavour of trout from local River Test you are craving, or a selection of pastries skilfully prepared by our in-house pastry chefs and chocolatier, join us soon.

The Courtyard Cafe

Tuck into a light lunch or enjoy a pastry, cake and hot drink at the Courtyard Café before you explore. Children can choose a selection of treats from our special ‘bug boxes’.

How we choose our suppliers really matters

We’re committed to spending our money locally, choosing produce, either because of their top notch quality or because it is ethically and sustainably produced. It’s not only good for our customers but helps local business. Our commitment to local sourcing helps reduce carbon emissions from transport and boosts local livelihoods too.
