Stone circle

Use the circle to think about seasons, day length, rise and set of the sun and moon

Overview

Welcome to the stone circle. All the stones mark major astronomical events or directions. The circle is orientated to true north and is designed to be viewed from the middle. Most ancient circles are aligned to an astronomical event but are viewed from outside the circle which gives a greater accuracy. Children at Minstead have used the circle to think about seasons, day length, rise and the set of the sun and moon.
